I get a lot of great questions from the ThyroSynergy® thyroid-thriving community. These are the top 5 product questions that I would like to answer today.
Answers To The Top 5 Product Questions
Question #1: How Can ThyroSynergy® Help Me?
As a Naturopath I know not all thyroid supplements are created equal, and one of the biggest challenges to regaining your thyroid health is finding the best supplement that supplies the right mix of nutrients, in the most active forms.
It’s the reason I spent many months researching, and creating ThyroSynergy®.
My cutting edge thyroid health formula features iodine PLUS zinc, selenium, and seven B-group vitamins.*
ThyroSynergy® is specially designed to support optimal thyroid function, renewed energy, and healthy hair, skin and nails.*
Let me tell you more about the 10 thyroid-supporting nutrients featured in ThyroSynergy®.
+ Iodine: Essential Nutrient For Thyroid Hormone Production*
You may already know your body requires a constant supply of iodine as it’s an essential mineral required for production of your thyroid hormones. These hormones help regulate numerous metabolic processes including ongoing energy production, mood regulation, and proper immune function.*
ThyroSynergy® supplies potassium iodide, a combination of potassium and iodide to support active uptake of iodine by the thyroid.*
+ Zinc + Selenium: Aid Activation of Thyroxine (T4) to Triiodothyronine (T3)*
Zinc and selenium are integral to an effective thyroid health formula as they provide nutritional support to assist conversion of thyroxine (T4) to triiodothyronine (T3).
You may already know adequate T3 assists maintenance of a healthy metabolism which can make a big difference to how you feel.*
+ B-Vitamins: Help You Deal with Physical and Emotional Stressors*
B-vitamins are an important component of a thyroid health formula as these nutrients support energy production, cognitive health, mental performance, and maintenance of a healthy nervous system.*
The ThyroSynergy® formula supplies seven B vitamins: thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), niacinamide (B3), pantothenic acid (B5), pyridoxal 5-phosphate (active B6), methylcobalamin (methyl B12) and Quatrefolic® (methyl folate).
Question #2: When Is The Best Time to Take ThyroSynergy®?
ThyroSynergy® is a twice-daily formula.
It’s suggested that adults take 1 capsule twice daily with food, or as directed by a healthcare professional. You may find taking 1 capsule at breakfast, and 1 capsule at lunch works best. This ensures you are getting the right mix of thyroid-supporting nutrients during the day when you are busy, and on the go.*
When taken as suggested each bottle of ThyroSynergy® represents a one month supply.
Question #3: Can I Take ThyroSynergy® in Combination With My Prescribed Thyroid Medication?
When you are taking a prescribed thyroid medication you should speak to your medical practitioner before taking ThyroSynergy®.
Your medical practitioner can provide advice that takes into account your specific health history, and your current thyroid blood test results. Your medical practitioner will also assess the ingredients in ThyroSynergy® to check if appropriate for you. ThyroSynergy® does not contain thyroid hormone extracts. Rather, it supplies vitamins and minerals.
Please note: ThyroSynergy® should not be taken at the same time as prescribed thyroid medication and should not be considered a replacement for prescribed thyroid medication.*
Question #4: Is ThyroSynergy® a Copper-Free Formulation?
ThyroSynergy® is a copper-free formulation.
It doesn’t make much sense to put copper in a thyroid health product as it’s rare to be deficient in this mineral. So taking a copper supplement is often unnecessary, even risky as copper can easily build up within the body.
Furthermore, from a thyroid health perspective too much copper is problematic. You see copper blocks zinc, which is one mineral you definitely want working properly.
Zinc assists wound healing, is required for proper taste and smell reception, and due to the fact this mineral contributes to the maintenance of healthy hair, skin and nails it’s often called the ‘beauty mineral’.*
Most importantly when it comes to thyroid health zinc teams up with selenium to aid activation of thyroxine (T4) to triiodothyronine (T3). The conversion of T4 through to T3 is an important step for maintaining an optimal metabolic rate.*
You’ll see that ThyroSynergy® supplies zinc picolinate which is currently regarded as the most bioavailable form of zinc.*
If you are not already aware, the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) enzyme is one of the most important enzymes in human physiology as it supports proper folate metabolism.
Here’s a few things I would like you to know;
+ Folate, or vitamin B9, is available in both natural and synthetic forms. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate. In order for folic acid to be used by the body it must be converted to an active form. In contrast, methyl folate is an active form that does not require activation. This is an important point of difference to consider when supplementing with folate.
+ A faulty MTHFR gene can impair your ability to properly process folic acid. It’s WHY methyl folate, not synthetic folic acid should be the folate of choice for those diagnosed with a positive MTHFR status. The good news is, more and more health companies are opting to use the methyl form in nutritional supplements.
+ Methyl folate is the most abundant form of folate in your body. As a supplement methly folate is more effective than folic acid when it comes to increasing circulating folate in the body.
You will see ThyroSynergy® supplies Quatrefolic®, a new generation methyl folate which may be suitable if you have been diagnosed with the MTHFR genetic variant.* However, you should speak to your medical practitioner if you have any questions or concerns about which folate is best for you.
